adidas Gazelle Indoor vs Gazelle vs Gazelle Bold: Which One Should You Buy?

What the Gazelle Indoor actually is
The Gazelle Indoor is the indoor-sport version of the 1966 trainer that started the family. That heritage shows up in the build. The upper is suede, the lining is textile, the outsole is gum rubber, and the whole shoe sits low and slim in a way that reads as court shoe rather than runner. Branding is the classic combination of Three-Stripes, Trefoil, and the Gazelle wordmark, with women's pairs adding gold Gazelle lettering along the side wall.
Two pairs in our current lineup show the range. The men's Red Gazelle Indoor, SKU JI2063, is the loud one, a saturated red suede on translucent gum. Red suede holds color better than red leather does, and the gum sole keeps the shoe grounded so the color reads as intentional.
The women's Ash Green Gazelle Indoor, SKU JS1396, goes the other direction. Ash green behaves like a neutral against denim, cream, and black, and the gold Gazelle lettering is the only bright detail on the shoe.
What the standard Gazelle is
The standard Gazelle started life as a training shoe and grew into a lifestyle staple. The construction reflects that. Where the Indoor is suede over a gum sole, the standard Gazelle pairs suede with synthetic overlays and finishes on a plain rubber outsole. Textile lining, serrated Three-Stripes, Trefoil logos, and a sculpted heel tab round it out.
That plain rubber outsole is the practical difference. Gum darkens as it wears, which some people like and some people do not. A rubber outsole holds its tone. The Gazelle Bold and the platform sole
The Gazelle Bold takes the same silhouette and raises it on a platform sole with a cushioned insole underneath. It is cut on a women's last, and the added height changes how it wears with the rest of an outfit. Cropped jeans, midi skirts, and wide-leg trousers all sit differently when there is an extra layer of sole under the heel and forefoot.
The Bold also tends to be the version adidas uses for collaborations. The adidas x Liberty London floral run is the clearest example in our catalog, with the Liberty print applied across the upper on a black base.
Do they run true to size?
All three run true to size. Order your normal adidas size in each and you will land right.
Fit differs by volume rather than by length. The Gazelle Indoor is the slimmest of the three through the midfoot, so a high instep will feel the lacing sooner there than on the other two. The standard Gazelle sits slightly more relaxed. The Bold adds an insole underneath, which takes up a small amount of interior volume, so a thick sock changes the feel more on the Bold than on the Indoor.

Which Gazelle works for wide feet?
Of the three, the standard Gazelle gives you the most room, the Bold sits in the middle, and the Indoor is the narrowest.
