What is the adidas Gazelle?
The Gazelle is a low-top suede trainer with serrated 3-Stripes, a Trefoil on the tongue, and the Gazelle wordmark scripted along the side wall. The build is simple on purpose. Soft suede upper, textile lining, rubber outsole, lace-up closure. There is no chunky midsole and no visible cushioning tech. What you get instead is a shoe with almost no bulk, which is exactly why it disappears into an outfit the way a good pair of jeans does.

Gazelle vs Gazelle Indoor vs Gazelle Bold
Most of the confusion around this model comes down to three versions sharing one name.
The standard Gazelle is the roomier of the two flat versions, though roomy is relative on a shoe this slim. Full suede upper, flat rubber sole, and a little more room through the forefoot and over the instep than the Indoor gives you. The men's Gazelle in Glow Pink, JH5388, is a good look at the classic build, with suede and synthetic overlays, a textile lining, and a sculpted heel tab. The grey Gazelle, BB5480, is the same silhouette in the most wearable color in the catalog.
The Gazelle Indoor is the slimmer one, drawn from the 1970s indoor training line. It has a sharper, narrower shape, a T-toe overlay, and a semi-translucent gum outsole that wraps slightly up onto the upper and gives the shoe its floating look. This is the version that took over European and Japanese streetwear over the last few years. The Gazelle Bold puts the same upper on a platform sole. It adds visible height and a cushioned insole without changing the shape of the shoe above the midsole. Do adidas Gazelles run true to size?
The short answer depends on which one you pick.
The standard Gazelle runs true to size for most people. Order your normal adidas size and you will be fine. The one exception is wide or high-volume feet, where a half size up buys some breathing room across the toes. Even then, the Gazelle is not a tight shoe by terrace standards — the soft suede makes it roomier and more forgiving than a Samba, and it gives further as it breaks in.
The Gazelle Indoor is the narrower of the two. Our product pages are consistent on this: the Indoor runs slim and sleek, and the fuller tongue sitting on top of that tighter shape is what makes it feel snugger and lower-volume than the standard Gazelle. If you sit between sizes or have wide feet, go up a half size. The suede does soften and give a little after the first week or so, but the shoe starts snug through the midfoot and stays sleek.

Which Gazelle colorway should you get?
Suede takes color better than leather does, which is why the Gazelle handles shades most sneakers cannot. Deep tones read almost as neutrals. The red Gazelle and the green Gazelle both work with denim the way a navy or grey shoe would.

How do you style adidas Gazelles?
The slim profile is the whole advantage here. A Gazelle sits under a trouser hem cleanly, which is something a chunky runner cannot do. Straight leg denim, cream or olive trousers, track pants, midi skirts. The shoe does not need help.
