Description
The Superstar arrives in Cloud White with Gold Metallic 3-Stripes and a matching gold heel tab, giving the classic shell-toe shape a restrained metallic accent. Introduced in 1969 as a low-top basketball shoe, the Superstar's rubber shell toe was originally built for court protection.
This version uses a leather upper with a moulded sockliner, lace closure, signature shell toe, and rubber cupsole. The gold detailing is concentrated on the 3-Stripes and heel tab, while the white leather keeps the rest of the upper straightforward.
If you're choosing between this and the Samba, the Superstar has the harder rubber shell toe and chunkier rubber cupsole, while the Samba uses a softer T-toe and thinner gum sole. The Superstar also has the more straightforward fit of the two.
The white-and-gold colorway works naturally with straight-leg denim, black trousers, or other simple casual pieces where the metallic 3-Stripes can stand on their own.
