The Sambae is the platform version of the Samba — a women's silhouette — so: does the Sambae run true to size?
We sell adidas at West Coast Deals, and I've spent time in these. Here's my read.
Does the Sambae run true to size? The short answer
Not quite — the Sambae tends to run slightly big and long on its platform, so a lot of us size down half a size from our usual Samba size, especially with slimmer feet. Wider feet can stay true to size.
How they fit
I wear a women's 8.5 with an average-to-slightly-narrow foot, and half a size down was the better call — at true to size there was extra length and a little heel movement on the raised sole. The upper itself is the narrow-leaning Samba upper, so if your feet are wide, stay true to size rather than sizing down. They're comfortable out of the box — no rough break-in.
What they are
The Sambae is a platformed Samba on a raised translucent gum sole, in women's sizing — the Samba look with extra height.
Final verdict
Runs slightly big — slim and average feet size down half a size; wide feet stay true. For the base model, see our Samba sizing guide. Browse the White/Green Sambae and our Samba collection.
