White Sneakers: How to Pick a Pair and Keep Them White
White sneakers are the most-searched shoe there is, and the reason people keep searching is that everybody's first pair got dirty and they're hoping the next one won't. So let's deal with the real question up front: the material you choose matters more than the brand.

Leather stays white. Canvas does not.
This is the whole decision in one line. Smooth leather has a sealed surface — dirt sits on top and wipes off with a damp cloth. Canvas is porous and absorbs everything, and once a stain is in the weave it's in there.
If you want a white shoe that still looks white in six months, buy leather. Canvas is fine if you accept it'll go off-white and you're okay with that — plenty of people are.
The best white silhouettes
The White Superstar II (JI0080) is the purest version of the idea: leather upper, rubber shell toe, nothing to go wrong. If a little contrast doesn't bother you, the White/Black Superstar II (IH8659) and the women's White/Black Superstar II (JH7032) hide scuffing along the stripes better than an all-white pair does.
The Samba ADV in White/Black/Gum (GZ8477) is the one to get if you want white without looking like you're trying to keep it white — the gum sole is the point, and it doesn't show wear.
For something less common, the White Hoops 4.0 (JH6141) is a clean court shoe, and the Navy/White VL Court 3.0 (ID6275) works if you'd rather the white be an accent than the whole shoe.
How do you clean white sneakers?
By material, and never in a washing machine — the drum cracks midsoles and yellows adhesive.
Leather: damp microfiber cloth, mild soap, wipe, dry immediately. For scuffs on the rubber toe, a melamine sponge takes them off in seconds.
Canvas: soft brush and cold water. Work in small circles, blot rather than soak, and dry away from direct heat. Heat sets stains.
Midsoles and outsoles: these yellow from oxidation, not dirt. Keeping them out of direct sun when stored slows it more than any cleaning product will.
Do it after two or three wears rather than waiting for the pair to look bad. Ten seconds regularly beats an hour of scrubbing later.
Do they run true to size?
