Originally introduced in 1972 as a lightweight running shoe, the SL 72 has remained one of adidas' cleanest low-profile heritage silhouettes.
A textile upper keeps the shoe light, while leather overlays add structure through the toe, eyestay, and heel. An EVA midsole provides lightweight cushioning underfoot, and the gum rubber outsole features the original ripple tread for reliable everyday traction. The slim shape and vintage proportions stay true to the design that first appeared on the track in the early 1970s.
