The RC42 arrives in the White Reflection colorway with a white leather and synthetic base, soft suede overlays, and a black sidewall "N" logo that keeps the shoe from reading as a flat all-white sneaker. It pulls from New Balance's late-1970s court and training archive rather than the brand's better-known running lineage, giving it a lower and simpler profile than many modern New Balance models.
The upper combines leather, synthetic panels, and suede overlays over a streamlined shape that sits closer to the foot than the 990 and 2002 families. A textile lining and foam-backed tongue soften the step-in feel, while the flat rubber outsole keeps the ride direct and grounded in the way older court-inspired trainers were built to feel. Traditional lacing and restrained paneling keep the focus on the shape rather than the details.
