The Adizero Evo SL has become the value pick for a do-it-all speed trainer, but before you buy, the question is: does the Evo SL run true to size?
We sell the Evo SL at West Coast Deals, so I've had pairs in hand. Here's the verdict, including exactly who should size up and why.

Does the Adizero Evo SL run true to size? The short answer
The Adizero Evo SL is true to size for most people. Go up half a size in three specific cases: wide feet, longer runs, or if you're between sizes. The last is tapered with a mildly narrow forefoot, which is typical for the Adizero line, and it's sold in a single D width with no wide option, so half a size up is the only way to buy extra room. Outside those three cases, stay true to size for the locked-in race feel.
How it fits, and the tongue quirk to know
I wear a US 11 with a wider foot. I tested 10.5, 11 and 11.5, and 11.5 was the one I kept, that's my wider foot meeting a tapered last, not the shoe running short. The half size opened up the toe box without making the shoe sloppy. The one recurring weak point everyone mentions is the thin, short tongue: it tends to slide, so you'll want to crank the laces down to lock the midfoot. If you have narrow-to-average feet and like a snug, fast fit, true to size is right and the length will be spot on. Wide feet, long runs, or sitting between sizes are what push you toward half up.
What the Adizero Evo SL is
The Evo SL is a do-it-all single-foam super-trainer, daily miles, tempo work, even budget race day, built on Adios Pro-style geometry. It's an engineered mesh upper over full-length Lightstrike Pro (no plate) with a Continental rubber outsole. Light, bouncy, and versatile.
Evo SL vs Evo SL EXO
If the standard Evo SL's biggest knock, a loose upper at speed, is a dealbreaker, there's a fix: the EXO version swaps in a caged exoskeleton upper for tighter lockdown while keeping the same foam underneath. We break that down in the Adizero Evo SL EXO sizing guide. For the full review, see our Adizero Evo SL review, and the adidas running comparison for context.

Final verdict
The Adizero Evo SL is true to size for most runners, and that's the size to buy for a fast, locked-in fit. Go up half a size if you have wide feet, you're running long, or you're between sizes, and with a single D width and no wide option, that half size is the only extra room on offer. Lace the thin tongue down tight whichever size you pick.
