Adidas Adizero Dropset Pro Sizing Guide: Do They Run True to Size?

West Coast Deals is a Portland, Oregon sneaker shop. Every pair we sell is brand new, authenticated in-house at our warehouse, and ships the same or next business day under our Verified & Shipped promise. We have been selling since 2017 from our own floor, so the shoes in this guide are ones we can actually put in a box for you.

ONE SENTENCE REVIEW: The Adizero Dropset Pro runs true to size for narrow and medium feet, but the low, snug upper means people with wide feet should go up half a size.

The Dropset Pro is adidas' hybrid trainer for people who mix running with gym work: treadmill intervals, sled pushes, lunges and HYROX style sessions. It uses a Lightstrike Pro midsole with a 29 mm heel and 22 mm forefoot stack, a 7 mm drop. Here is how it fits, using the black and white Adizero Dropset Pro (KH6710) as the reference pair.

Do adidas Dropset Pro run true to size?

Yes, for most feet. Women's Running UK found it fit true to size with a secure, performance feel, and Road Trail Run called it "perfect true to size" for narrow to medium feet. GearUpToFit reached the same call for standard width feet. If you wear your usual adidas size in the Adizero Evo SL, start there.

How the Dropset Pro fits: heel, midfoot and toe box

The heel hold is the standout. Women's Running UK reported no slipping during lunges or squats. The upper sits low over the top of the foot and wraps closely through the midfoot, which is great for lockdown during lateral gym movements. Road Trail Run described the base as broad and well planted, with a small toe bumper that protects the toes without squeezing them.

The tradeoff is volume. The forefoot is not especially roomy, and reviewers with higher insteps felt the low upper. Lace it the way you would a racing flat and it feels locked in. Crank it the way you would a chunky trainer and it can feel tight over the instep.

Should people with wide feet size up in the Dropset Pro?

Yes. That Fit Friend, testing on an E to EE foot, recommends a half size up at minimum and said they wished they had done it. GearUpToFit also suggests a half size up for 2E and wider, noting the structured lateral sidewall can rub. If you have a high instep, the same half size up gives the upper more room. People with extra wide feet (3E and up) may find the shape limiting even after sizing up.

Dropset Pro vs Evo SL sizing

Road Trail Run compared the Dropset Pro to a more stable Evo SL in fit and ride, with a lower stack and a better holding upper. Sizing lines up: true to size for standard feet, half up if your foot is wide. Our Adizero Evo SL sizing guide covers that shoe in detail, and the Hyperboost Edge sizing guide and Boston 13 sizing guide cover the rest of the adidas running wall.

Who the Dropset Pro is for

It suits hybrid athletes, HYROX racers and gym regulars who also log short runs. That Fit Friend rated it lower for all day casual wear because of the toe spring and low upper volume, so if you mostly want a walking shoe, a flatter and roomier model is the better pick. Quick sizing summary

  • Narrow feet: true to size.
  • Medium feet: true to size.
  • People with wide feet or high insteps: half a size up.
  • Extra wide feet: try on first, the upper may still feel tight.
