The adidas Size Chart: How adidas Shoes Fit (and How to Find Your Size)

Buying sneakers online comes down to one nervous question: will they fit? adidas sizing is more consistent than most brands, but it isn't identical across every model, and the numbers on the box change depending on whether you read US men's, US women's, UK, or European sizes. This is the West Coast Deals adidas size chart, plus a straight answer on how each silhouette actually fits on foot. Every pair we ship is authenticated in-house here in Portland, Oregon, so the size on the label is the size you get.

The adidas size chart (US, UK, EU, and CM)

Use this to convert between regions. The most reliable column is CM (foot length in centimeters) — it never changes, no matter which region's number a listing uses. Measure your foot, find your centimeter length, and read across.

Sizes are US unless noted. On an adidas men's listing, a women's size is one number higher — a women's 9 is a men's 8. That +1 offset is an adidas number; Nike, New Balance and most other athletic brands use 1.5. We break that down in our men's to women's shoe size guide.

Do adidas run big or small?

For most people, adidas run true to size — order your normal sneaker size and you'll be fine. The nuance is width, and it's a model-by-model thing rather than a brand-wide one. The Samba and the SL 72 are the narrow ones, built low and slim, so they feel snug across the ball of the foot even when the length is right. The Superstar is narrow in a different way: the vamp pulls in over the rubber shell toe, and that taper is where a wide foot feels it first — it looks roomier than it fits. At the other end, the Campus 00s and the Handball Spezial are the ones with real room in them. If your feet are wide, that's where to start, and that snug feeling elsewhere is a width issue, not a sign the length is wrong.

How each adidas model fits

Here's the short version, model by model. Each links to a full fit guide with our Portland try-on notes.

  • Samba — down a half for standard and narrow feet, true to size for wide feet, and never up. Runs slightly long and narrow. Samba sizing guide
  • Handball Spezial — true to size for standard-width feet; up a half for wide feet or a medium-to-thick sock. The widest of the terrace models. Spezial sizing guide
  • Gazelle — true to size but snug; wide feet often go up a half. Gazelle fit guide
  • Superstar — true to size for standard-width feet. Narrow through the vamp, not roomy. Wide feet either stay true to size and fix heel slip with a heel grip or thicker sock, or go down a half for a locked heel. Never up. Superstar: up or down?
  • Campus 00s — true to size, and the roomiest, highest-volume heritage model we carry. Campus 00s sizing guide
  • SL 72 — runs long: true to size for average and wide feet, down a half for slim feet or anyone bothered by the long toe box. Wide feet never size up. The narrowest shape in our width ranking. SL 72 sizing guide
  • Adizero Evo SL — true to size for most; up a half for wide feet, longer runs, or if you're between sizes. Mildly tapered forefoot, single D width, no wide option. Evo SL sizing guide
  • Ultraboost 1.0 — true to size, sock-like knit. Ultraboost sizing guide

Which adidas fit best for wide feet?

If you have wide feet, lean toward the models with the most room in them — the Campus 00s and the Handball Spezial, plus the chunkier running silhouettes. Go up a half in the Gazelle, and up a half in the Spezial if you're also wearing a thicker sock. The Samba is the one to watch: wide feet should take their true size there rather than going up, because the extra length makes the heel slip without buying you any width. Leather uppers stretch and mold to your foot over a week or two; suede gives a little less. Going up a full size to chase width usually backfires for the same reason. A half size where the model calls for it, or a model with a naturally wider last, is the better fix.

Men's to women's: adidas is +1

Most of our listings show a men's size, because a huge share of adidas sneakers are cut on unisex or men's lasts. For adidas, add one: a women's 9 is a men's 8, a women's 10 is a men's 9. Going the other way, subtract one. We confirmed it off an original adidas hang tag in our warehouse — men's 8½ printed alongside women's 9½. Name the brand before you use an offset, though: Nike, New Balance and most other athletic brands run 1.5, not 1, so don't carry the adidas number across. How to measure your foot

Numbers lie a little from brand to brand, but centimeters don't. Stand on a piece of paper late in the day, when your feet are at their largest, and mark from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe. Measure both feet and use the bigger one. Match that centimeter figure to the CM column above, and you have your adidas size in every region at once. That's the measurement we rely on when we authenticate and match sizing before a pair ships.
